ERMIS Journals are committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Articles may be retracted when:

  • They contain significant errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions.

  • There is evidence of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, unethical research practices, or other serious breaches of publication ethics.

In such cases:

  • The Chief Editor, in consultation with the Editorial Board, will evaluate the situation and communicate the decision to the author(s).

  • If a retraction is warranted, a formal retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article’s record.

  • The original article will remain in the repository to preserve the scholarly record, but access to its full text will be restricted.

  • A clear retraction notice will be displayed on the article’s page, and the metadata (title, authors, publication details) will remain visible for indexing and citation transparency.

All retractions are carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

Removal Policy

In exceptional circumstances, ERMIS Journals may remove an article entirely from the public record. This action is taken only when:

  • The article is found to be defamatory, infringes legal rights, or violates privacy laws.

  • There is a court order or credible threat of legal action.

  • The content presents a serious and immediate risk to public health or safety if acted upon.

In such cases:

  • The article's metadata (title and authors) will be retained to maintain the integrity of the academic record.

  • The full text will be replaced with a notice stating that the article has been removed for legal or ethical reasons.

Removal decisions are made with the utmost care and in consultation with legal counsel, if necessary.

Replacement Policy

If an article contains errors that, if followed, could pose a significant risk to health or safety, the authors may choose to:

  • Retract the original article, and

  • Submit a corrected and updated version for republication.

In such instances:

  • The standard retraction procedures will be followed.

  • A retraction notice will be issued and will include:

    • A link to the corrected, republished article, and

    • A summary of the document’s revision history.
